EWC Men's Head Basketball Coach Casey Jones is in his fifth season with the men's basketball program, his fourth as the head coach. He came to EWC after three years at Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs. During His stint at WWCC, Coach Jones led the team to a WCCAC Championship and a Central Sub-Region Championship. His team was also honored with the highest GPA in the nation on two different occasions (3.39, 3.4).
He returned to EWC as head coach in July of 2007. During his first season at the helm, the Lancers claimed the Region IX championship and an 8th place finish at nationals. Lancer basketball teams play in front of passionate fans night in and night out and continue to pursue competitive excellence.
A native of Saratoga, Wyoming, Coach Jones played for the Lancers from 1996-98 under former coach Bob Davis. He finished his playing career at South Dakota School of Mines in Rapid City, SD and The Evergreen State College in Olympia, WA where he earned a bachelor's degree in 2000.
Coach Jones is pursuing a graduate degree at the University of Wyoming. He and his wife Jennifer has three children, a daughter Kennedy (8), son Max (2) and newborn daughter Harper. His parents Mark and Nancy Jones hail from Casper and live in Saratoga. He has two brothers Travis and Adam and a sister, Erin.
Coach Jones' goals at EWC are to run a basketball program with a high level of integrity with outstanding student-athletes. He would like to coach players that are great teammates who play extremely hard. "This is a great basketball community with a lot of tradition; we appreciate all of the support and friendships in the town of Torrington. We will continue to be a team that everyone can be proud of on and off the court."
