On-campus Housing

On-campus housing provides students with an opportunity to easily meet individuals from a variety of backgrounds, to establish lifetime friendships, and to participate in a variety of social and educational activities. We believe that this experience in community living is both enjoyable and rewarding for students, as well as being convenient and economical.

Eastern Wyoming College has two residence halls on campus; the Coed Dormitory and the New Residence Hall. The Coed Dormitory has double occupancy rooms with community bathrooms for men and women on separate floors, as well as 2 bedroom (four-student) suites which share a bathroom. The New Residence Hall has 2 bedroom (four-student) suites which share a bathroom. Basic cable television and Internet service is provided in each living space, as is local telephone service. (Telephone instruments are NOT provided.) Free washers and dryers are available in each building. In addition, the Coed Dorm has a lounge with a television, VCR, refrigerator and microwave on each floor and a pool/game room in the basement. The New Residence Hall has lounges and study rooms in each wing and a kitchen in the main commons area.

Housing staff resides in each residence hall. Professional and student staff members are trained to assist students with concerns relating to their total college experience.

To enable the college to offer students the best meals possible at reasonable costs, the college requires all students who reside on campus to participate in a food service program. The food service program offers a full meal plan of 17 meals per week. The housing and food service charges are included under a single contract. Exceptions to the meal plan, such as work conflict, religious reasons, class conflicts, vegetarian, weight loss, or health-related diets, are not made. For further information concerning student housing, contact the Housing Director.

Car Registration

At the beginning of each semester all students must register motor vehicles which they own or operate. Students are allowed one week after a change in the registration to report the information--such as different car, change of license number, etc., to the Student Services Office.

Traffic & Parking

Students are subject to all Torrington traffic rules and regulations, and violations within the College area will be reported to the local police department for whatever penalties may be imposed. Remember, pedestrians have the right of way.

Dormitory residents are required to leave their cars in the residence parking lots and not in the main campus parking lots. No parking is allowed in front of the main building along the drive. Parking spaces are marked and students may be ticketed if they park across the lines. Large vehicles and trailers must be parked behind the welding shop.
