Welcome to Torrington, Wy
Eastern Wyoming College is located in the North Platte River Valley in the southeast Wyoming town of Torrington. A community of around 6,000 people, it is the county seat of Goshen County. It is a small community but there is a little of everything. Torrington has a hospital, doctors, dentists and all the necessities of life. Along with what you may need, there are all the extras: motels, a movie theater, a golf course, a swimming pool, parks, and numerous denominations of churches. Torrington boasts one of the lowest costs of living in the state and has also been named the cleanest city in Wyoming.

Because of Goshen County’s rural nature, there is great opportunity to see various wildlife. Antelope, mule and white tail deer, wild turkey, and large numbers of geese, ducks and other game birds all populate this area.
Considered “The Gateway to the West,” Goshen County is an historically rich area. The Cheyenne-Deadwood Stage line, the Oregon, Mormon, and California trails as well as the Pony Express all run through Goshen County. Nearby, Ft. Laramie Historic Site is a great place to learn about the history of this area through the Living History Program that runs through the summer.
