Participation on the Eastern Wyoming College Livestock Judging Team is a great way to enhance student’s education and live animal evaluation skills. Students will learn to accurately evaluate market and breeding livestock and gain communication skills that are necessary for life skills. The program will also build teamwork, leadership, dedication, decision making, hard work and confidence.

The Livestock Judging Team will compete nationally, regionally, and locally. The team will travel to contests like the National Western in Denver, Louisville Kentucky, and Houston Texas, along with many other contests. The team will practice at local producer’s farms and ranches and utilize workouts. The team will practice 4 hours a week and utilize Saturdays for scheduled practices. There are scholarships available for students that are interested in being on the competitive team.

Scholarships will be based on experience, GPA,
and ACT scores. A student must maintain a 2.0 GPA to travel and compete.
