EWC is a student-friendly college. I have taken four distance education courses and have thoroughly enjoyed the courses. Each instructor has his/her own way of presenting the class on the computer and the instructor that puts most of it on the computer - tests and all - to me is the handiest. The instructors and administrative staff are cheery and extremely helpful. I would call it a five star community college!

Eastern Wyoming College wants to bring quality education to every part of our service area and through distance education, everyone can have an opportunity to take college credit courses and earn a degree. EWC was recently approved by The Higher Learning Commission to offer four complete degree programs via distance.
Delivery Modes
INET - designates an Internet delivery course. To enroll in an internet delivery course, you must have access to the Internet and an e-mail address. These courses may consist of weekly postings from the instructor, frequent e-mails, suggested web sites for further information, and assigned readings and activities. In addition, the course will probably include a textbook, study guide, and written assignments.
CV - designates a class offered in a Compressed Video classroom (part of the Wyoming Equality Network). Some courses may require lab attendance at the EWC Torrington campus.
CVIN - designates a class offered in a Compressed Video classroom (part of the Wyoming Equality Network) with some Internet class components.
TEL - designates a telecourse which would include videotapes of instructional segments along with a thorough study guide. It would also include e-mail as a communication tool.
Services Available

Considerations
- How comfortable are you with using technology such as computers, e-mail, and the Internet?
- Are you a self-directed, self-motivated, and self-disciplined student? It is important to stick to a schedule with distance courses.
- Are you comfortable with forms of interaction such as chat rooms, e-mail, or telephone calls?
- Do you have the time commitment to devote to a distance course? Distance classes require as much or more of your time than traditional classes.
- Are you willing to be an active participant and an advocate for your own education?
