EWC Announces Fall Community Music Groups

(Torrington, WY, August 30, 2002) Come join Eastern Wyoming College this fall for fun community music.
Registration for the Eastern Wyoming Community Choir and Eastern Wyoming Community Concert Band is open throughout the semester. The registration fee is $15 per person per group. Those people who love to sing or play are invited to attend.
The EWC Music Department is happy to announce the formation of a new a cappella vocal group. The new group is an audition only group that will focus on a cappella music from all eras. Auditions for this new group are September 12 from 5:00 -7:00 pm. Rehearsals will begin Tuesday September 16 and will continue every Tuesday and Thursday night from 6:00 - 7:00 pm throughout the semester. The registration fee is $15 per person.
The Community Choir rehearses every Tuesday night beginning September 10 and Community Band rehearses every Thursday night beginning September 12. Rehearsals for both groups begin at 7:00 pm.
Emily Howard, EWC music instructor and director of all three groups, said, "I don't care if it has been five days or 50 years since you last sang or played an instrument, come out and enjoy the community interaction and the fun."
The college has a few instruments available on a long borrow, but participants are encouraged to rent instruments from either Barbour Music in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, or Torrington Office Supply.
