EWC Community Ed Offerings

(Torrington, WY November 14, 2002) Eastern Wyoming College announces upcoming Community Education classes and events. On Saturday, November 30, from 9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Rendezvous Center, the Torrington Lions Club and Eastern Wyoming College will be sponsoring the annual Holiday Bazaar. Any group or individual that would like to participate can call the Community Education & Outreach Office at 532-8213. Tables are available upon request. Limited spaces are available for a fee of $30.00 on a first-paid/first-serve basis. Please make checks payable to the Lions Club.

WINTER WALKING - Continue the healthy habit of the daily walking you started this summer or get started now if you have been waiting for an opportunity. Walk the stairs and hallways of EWC any days the offices are open from September 1 - December 23 during the hours of 7:30 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. on Mondays and 6:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. Tuesday-Friday. Please sign up with the Community Education office to begin your exercise. Also, please remember classes may be in session from 7:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m., so staying quiet in the halls is appreciated.

Using Computers in MS PowerPoint - Microsoft PowerPoint 2002 is a powerful, presentation program that provides everything you need to prepare effective presentations. This class begins Tuesday, November 19, and continues November 21 and November 26 from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (1 credit)

Other Outlook Features - Learn about Outlooks other features such as calendars, appointment scheduling, meetings, and tasks. This class is November 18 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Windows I - This course is to familiarize the student with the basic concepts and skill necessary for using Microsoft Windows 2000. The course is scheduled for Tuesday and Thursdays beginning December 10 and continuing thru Dec. 17, from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (1 credit)

Youth Basketball - Youth Basketball is designed to introduce students to the game of basketball. Using lower baskets and smaller balls insures success and FUN! Youth Basketball wants your encounter with organized basketball to be positive and enjoyable. Volunteer coaches will teach basic basketball skills and the importance of teamwork and sportsmanship. No standings will be kept and no awards will be given. Open to all students in Goshen County grades 1 - 6. All participants will be drafted onto teams for the season. Register now thru Jan. 4, 2003. Play begins Saturday, Jan. 4 at 8:00 a.m. Parent Coaches are needed. Special Clinic will be held Saturday, January 18, featuring Coach Andy Ward and the Lancer Basketball Team!
