Livestock Judging Included in Technology Day II
February 24, 2003
(Torrington, WY) The Technology Day planned for March 20 will include a new educational session-livestock judging. High school students have been invited to participate in various educational sessions offered by the different technology departments at Eastern Wyoming College. The departments participating include agriculture, cosmetology, business office technology, welding and machine tooling, and veterinary technology.
The morning livestock judging practice contest is a new addition to the Technology Day curriculum. EWC Livestock Judging members will be assisting with the practice contest. Tim Walter, EWC Ag instructor, is asking area producers interested in providing stock for the contest to please contact him at 532-8271. "We would like to have one breeding and one market class in beef, sheep, and swine and hope that area livestock owners will help us out. This will be the first practice contest hosted by EWC in a very, very long time. I know that sorting and transporting livestock for this event is a lot to ask, but we trust that livestock owners will recognize the educational benefit to the youth."
Persons interested in receiving more information about Technology Day II should contact Maureen Reichert at 532-8317.
