EWC Rodeo Team Travels to Casper

(Torrington, WY) Eastern Wyoming College Rodeo team traveled to Casper over the Easter weekend, April 18-20, 2003 to compete. Coach Jake Clark said, "I was very pleased with the depth of the women?s team. All four members were in the short round."
In calf roping, Cole Tierney was 9th in the first go round and 6th in the second to place 6th in the average, Cliff Smith was 8th and 3rd respectively to place 3rd in the average, and Kean Edwards was 3rd and 2nd respectively to finish 2nd in the average.
In steer wrestling, Greg Weber was 8th in the first round, Seth Brockman was 5th in the first round, and Jacob Rinehart was 5th in the first go and 3rd in the second go to finish 3rd in the average.
In team roping, Zane Marty partnered with Zach Steele (Sheridan College) placed 4th and 5th in the first and second round to finish 2nd in the average. Brian McNamee with partner John Lewis (Northeastern Junior College) placed 6th in both rounds to end up 3rd in the average. Jerod Farella with Chase Gauger (Sheridan College) placed 9th in the first round and 3rd in the second round, and with partner, Justin Hammerich (UW) was 2nd in the first round.
Ginger Edwards placed 8th and 1st in the first and second round to finish 1st in the goat tying. CJ Floyd placed 2nd in the first round of breakaway roping, while Tavey Kreger placed 5th and 3rd respectively to end up 3rd in the average. Ronnie MacDonell sits in the top ten in barrel racing.
"Our freshman class just keeps doing better each weekend. I think we will see a strong finish by EWC this spring," quoted Clark.
