Scholarship Program Awards EWC Rodeo

(Torrington, WY) United States Smokeless Tobacco Company has been awarding scholarships to college rodeo athletes since 1974. A yearly total of $108,900 is provided to colleges, on behalf of rodeo athletes, toward regional awards for placing first or second in the final regional standing in each event and the all around of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association. This program has continued to provide needed tuition for qualified scholar athletes marking a 29-year partnership with the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association.

Two EWC Rodeo athletes have been rewarded for their dedication and hard work through the U.S. Smokeless Tobacco Co. Scholarship Awards Program. Eastern Wyoming College students, Jerod Farella of Newcastle, WY, and Kean Edwards of Gillette, WY, were awarded scholarship monies totaling $600 for the institution. Coach Jake Clark states, "We appreciate the continued support of the United States Smokeless Tobacco Company and the effect it has on student athletes, and the great sport of college rodeo. These funds earned by the students are very helpful and always put to good use for extra tuition costs."
