EWC Golf Team Wins Mccook Tournament

(Torrington, WY) Eastern Wyoming College Golf team had a successful weekend on September 10-11, with a first place finish at McCook, NE. The two day total of 634 was recorded by the Lancers with three players landing in the top ten. Tyler Barry of Gering, NE, tied for the 4th and 5th position, Jason Aschenbrenner of Mitchell, NE, held the 6th position, and Blake Jenniges of Hot Springs, SD, tied for 9th and 10th.
McCook College placed second with 636 strokes, Southeast Community College
hit 640 while Lamar College shot 641. Coach Mike Dawkins said, "The greens at McCook played like I have never seen. The first day was windy. They were very tough and the team played up to par for all the conditions. This was a morale boosting win for the team, to come from last to
first."
The Lancers' next tournament will be September 18-19, 2003 at Lamar, CO.
