EWC to Hold Annual Technology Conference

(Torrington, WY) November 6, 2003 will usher in the Annual Technology Conference at Eastern Wyoming College, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Students from high schools in the state of Wyoming and Western Nebraska have been invited to participate in this innovative event. This conference will be a unique opportunity for participants to gain a sampling of the hands-on training skills required to succeed in a technology intense workforce.
Welding Technology students will learn flame spraying and brazing, tool sharpening, arc welding and cutting skills. Livestock Judging students will judge six classes of livestock. Business and Computers workshops are designed to expose students to business and computer topics that are typically not addressed in the high school classroom. Cosmetology students will learn the basic concepts of applying makeup and learn basic braiding and long hair techniques. Veterinary Technology students will observe college students as they monitor anesthesia, perform preventative dentistry, x-ray, lab work tests and physical exams on animals. Science technology students will take fingerprints and determine the presence of over-the-counter drugs or controlled substances by analyzing prepared samples.
