Wyoming High Schools Compete in Academic Challenge Hosted by EWC

(Torrington, WY)  High school teams from around the state of Wyoming competed for the Wyoming Academic Challenge, hosted by Eastern Wyoming College, Saturday, December 6. Fifteen student teams participated in five rounds of competition and answered questions ranging from current events to mathematics and literature.

First place went to Sheridan Team #1 with a score of 137 points at the end of the day's event. Tongue River Team #1 came in second with a score of 136. Sheridan Team #2 came in third with a score of 116.

EWC President, Jack Bottenfield, presented the plaques and medals to the winning teams; students on the first place team were presented with scholarships to attend EWC for the 2004-2005 academic year. Dr. Bottenfield added, "Eastern Wyoming College is very pleased to annually host this outstanding event which recognizes academic achievement and scholarship. We appreciate the support for the event which was demonstrated by the participating schools."
