EWC Signs Formal Articulation Agreement with Upper Iowa University

August 16, 2004

(Torrington, WY) Eastern Wyoming College and Upper Iowa University have signed an agreement that will help EWC students who wish to transfer to UIU. Both colleges have been committed to helping students earn college degrees, and this agreement allows EWC graduates to easily move into the junior year for any of the online degree programs offered by UIU. The online degree programs allow more people to access bachelors and masters degrees without having to move to another locations after completing the associate degree at EWC.

Suzanne James, UIU Senior VP, and Dr. Ann Beaulieu, EWC VP, met recently to finalize the course equivalencies and degree definitions that both colleges will use in working with transfer students. Beaulieu stated, "Upper Iowa University, like EWC, is a fully accredited institution with an excellent range of programs. They are committed to small class sizes and to quality online degree programs. We are pleased to be able to expand the opportunities available to EWC graduates. This agreement is consistent with our EWC mission to provide educational opportunities that are accessible to those in our service areas, including site-bound EWC graduates." Dr. Dee Ludwig, EWC Associate Dean of Instruction, and David Binder, UIU Online Program Director, also participated in developing the materials.
