(Torrington, WY) Rose Wunder and daughter Barbara Reed presented EWC President Jack Bottenfield with a check for $25,000 check from the estate of their late sister and aunt, Arlene Shindledecker. Ms. Shindledecker had been an advocate for education and an educator herself for most of her life. She began her educational career as a graduate of Torrington High School, earned a Bachelor and Master of Arts Degree, and was a teacher and administrator in the California school system for many years. Her generous gift will fund the Arlene Shindledecker Memorial Scholarship endowment at Eastern Wyoming College. Ms. Shindledecker's bequest is the first major gift received by the College that qualifies for the new Wyoming Community College Endowment Program. The program, established by the 2004 legislature, provides a match from the State for funds raised privately for the purpose of creating an endowment.
