EWC Foundation Welcomes New Member

Eastern Wyoming College would like to announce that Donna Beth Downer has recently been selected to serve as a Director of the EWC Foundation Board. Donna Beth is a Torrington native and is involved in many Goshen County activities including: Golden Homes, Golden Manor, Goshen County Planning Commission, and various boards. Donna Beth has spent most of her professional life in higher education. She is a University of Wyoming Alumna and holds a Masters degree from Penn State University and Ph.D. from Purdue University. She was a college professor and dean at the University of Tennessee at Martin, University of Nevada at Reno, and the University of Alabama before returning to Torrington.
Donna Beth commented, "AI have appreciated the tremendous resource that EWC is to our community; academically, economically, and socially. I'm happy to have a chance to make some contributions back to EWC."
Dr. Downer joins other Foundation Board members Mary Lou Atkins, EWC President Jack Bottenfield, Gary Childs, Joe Guth, Dolores Kaufman, Board President Kate Kelly, Secretary/Treasurer Kenda Knudsen, Patrick Korell, Gary Olson, Bill Rueb, and Board Vice President Guido Smith.
The Eastern Wyoming College Foundation provides a number of generous scholarships to EWC students. Many students would have a difficult time paying for college without the support and generosity of the Foundation. The Foundation is also conducting its first ever major gift campaign. The funds raised will go toward housing, and expansion of the welding technology and veterinary technology programs. Funds currently pledge a total of $871.617.
