September 23, 2005
TORRINGTON, WY - Kristi McGuire, Computer Instructor at Eastern Wyoming College, recently received the title of "Master Instructor for Microsoft Office Specialist" from the Microsoft company. The Microsoft Office Specialist Master Instructor certification is for individuals who are, or aspire to be, teachers or trainers on the world's leading business productivity suite–Microsoft Office.
To earn this certification for Microsoft Office, you must pass one or more certification exams. Office Specialist exams provide a valid and reliable measure of technical proficiency and expertise by evaluating your overall comprehension of Office programs, your ability to use their advanced features, and your ability to integrate the Office programs with other software programs.
After certification you will be recognized for your skill and hands-on ability with Microsoft Word®, Microsoft Excel®, Microsoft PowerPoint®, Microsoft Access®, and Microsoft Outlook®.
McGuire tested and passed all five certification exams that took about a year to complete.
She received a Microsoft Office Specialist Master Instructor certificate, a laminated identification card and a lapel pin.
"Becoming a Master Instructor was a real goal for me," commented McGuire. "It's really not as difficult as it may seem. All students who are interested in becoming a teacher should really consider taking some of these exams. Having certification in these programs attracts attention in the competitive market."
