Eastern Wyoming College Initiates Students into Phi Theta Kappa

TORRINGTON, WY - Eastern Wyoming College is pleased to announce that twelve students were initiated into Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society on October 27th, 2005.  This initiation marks the biggest in EWC history.  Students initiated into the Alpha Omicron Lambda Chapter of PTK include: Lena Boyd, Interdisciplinary Studies; Jana Gibb, Business Education; Lynnsey Gonzales, Nursing; Kelley Humphrey, Journalism; Maria Long, Pre-Med; Heather Lunstra, Education; Jacqueline Mehrens, Criminal Justice; Jodene Pierce, Criminal Justice; Lacy Rose, Veterinary Technology; Crystal Stevens, Secondary Education; Crystal Wells, English. 

Master of Ceremonies was member Roxanne Steben, who conducted the welcome and introduction.  Keynote speaker was Dick Fullmer, EWC Community Connections Director.  Chapter advisors Jeff Bruening and Jared Pearce looked on as officers Drew Murphy-President, Brandy Lay-Vice-President, and Amber Edwards-Secretary, participated with Steben in the induction ritual of the new members.

Phi Theta Kappa's mission is to recognize and encourage the academic achievement of two-year college students and provide opportunities for individual growth and development through participation in honors, leadership, service, and fellowship programs.
