August 9, 2006
Eastern Wyoming College will be receiving the Perkins Non-Traditional Grant. The Carl D. Perkins Non-Traditional Student Training and Employment Grant assists students pursuing vocational/technical careers.
"Non-Traditional" means that it is a career area which has been dominated by members of the opposite sex. This includes men majoring in Business Office Technology, Cosmetology, and Veterinary Technology or women majoring in Welding, Machine Tool Technology, Computer Network Technician, and Criminal Justice (AAS).
This grant will pay full-time in-state tuition and fees for one year at Eastern Wyoming College for up to ten students. In addition, recipients will receive $250.00 each semester to assist them with the cost of books and supplies. The awards will be given based on aptitude, ability to benefit, and preference given to students with financial need. For purposes of determining financial need, students should complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). These are available in the EWC Financial Aid Office.
