EWC offers free job interview and dining with etiquette workshop
March 20, 2007
TORRINGTON, WY - It may sound trite, but it is in fact, true, that we all have only ONE chance to make a first impression. With that in mind, a combination workshop is being sponsored at 12 p.m. Wednesday, March 28, by Eastern Wyoming College Peer Counselors, Student Senate and Skills/USA club which will address job interview and dining with etiquette.
"These two situations are often combined into one," said Anne Gardetto, EWC Student Services, "when employers take prospective employees to lunch or dinner job interviews. Since EWC is sponsoring a Job Expo on April 13, we thought it would be timely to offer workshops to help them be better prepared."
Angie Babcock, Eastern Wyoming College Testing Center Coordinator will present "The Job Interview: The spotlight is on . . . YOU!," where she will speak about making a positive impression; making an employer feel comfortable with you; and forming a positive connection.
"If the first impression is not good, the prospective employee will begin with an uphill battle," said Babcock. "The workshop will include types of questions to expect in an interview, and how to answer them. It's all about preparing our students to be the best they can be."
Kathy Tatman, Cent$ible Nutrition Project Coordinator will present "Dining with Etiquette." Workshop participants can practice while learning, as the workshop will feature a free meal served by the EWC cafeteria staff.
The buffet style meal will feature Chicken Florencia with lemon sauce; baked potato; tossed salad/soup; California blend vegetables, dinner roll and caramel cheesecake praline
If you are interested in participating, please call Gardetto at 532-8328, or Babcock at 532-8316 by March 26. The workshops will be held in Room 131-132 of the Tebbet Building on the EWC campus.
