Eastern Wyoming College hosts home rodeo

PHOTO CAPTION: EWC rodeoTORRINGTON, WY - The Eastern Wyoming College Rodeo Team hosted their home rodeo on March 23-25. Eleven colleges and universities were in attendance from Colorado, Wyoming, and Nebraska.

The Eastern Wyoming College Men’s Rodeo Team finished second overall in the team standings; which moved the team to second place in the regional standings. Below are the individual results of EWC students.

In the bull riding, Wylie Johnson of North Platte, NE placed first in the long- go and first in the average.

In the steer wrestling Gary Gilbert of New Underwood, SD placed first in the short- go and first in the average and Logan McDonald of Hemingford, NE placed second in the long-go.

Derek Kenner of Woodlake, NE placed fourth in the long-go, third in the short-go and third in the average and Wylie Johnson of North Platte, NE placed sixth in the long-go in the saddle bronc riding.

In the bareback riding, Ty Kenner of Woodlake, NE placed first in the short-go and second in the average.

In the tie down roping, Jayce Johnson of Hemingford, NE placed third in the long-go, first in the short go, and second in the average and Wiley Cross of Torrington, WY placed fourth in the short go and fourth in the average.

Brad Johnson of Reva, SD and Jared Bilby of Bridgeport, NE placed first in the long-go, fourth in the short-go and third in the average in the team roping

For the women, Chelsie Schaffer of Walla Walla, WA placed first in the short- go and fourth in the average in the barrel racing.
