EWC men finish in third place at CSU

TORRINGTON, WY - The EWC men’s team finished strong in the rodeo hosted by CSU held March 30-31. Earning 420 points was good enough for a third place finish just behind the University of Wyoming.
Chris Cover of Hyannis, NE won the team roping with partner Chad Wahlert of UW. The win moved Cover into first place in the Central Rocky Mountain Region team roping header standings.
Jayce Johnson of Hemingford, NE won the first round of the tie-down roping and placed second in the average. Johnson now leads the region in the tie-down roping.
Ty Kenner of Woodlake, NE placed third in the bareback riding average and sixth in the saddle bronc riding. Kenner is also winning the region’s all-around standings.
Team ropers Uly Johnson of Fairburn, SD and Ty Allen of Briggsdale, CO won the first round of the team roping and finished third in the average.
Gary Gilbert of New Underwood, SD finished third in the average in the steer wrestling.
Julie Gunter of Wheatland, WY made it back to the short go in the breakaway roping.
