EWC Men Claim Team Title at UW

TORRINGTON, WY - The EWC Men's team claimed the team title this past weekend in Laramie scoring 670 points. Brad Johnson of Reva, SD placed at the top of both of his events leading the way to his all-around title. In the Steer Wrestling he placed second in the long-go, first in the short-go and first in the average. In the tie down roping, he placed eighth in the long-go, sixth in the short-go and seventh in the average. "I am really impressed with Brad's performance in the arena this spring; he has been working really hard at practice as well," Clark said.

Jayce Johnson of Hemingford, NE dominated the tie down roping winning second in the long-go, first in the short-go and first in the average.

Chris Cover of Ashby, NE also placed in the top of the tie down roping placing third in the long-go, second in the short-go and second in the average.

Gary Gilbert of New Underwood, SD placed fourth in the long-go, third in the short-go and third in the average in the steer wrestling.

In the bareback riding, Ty Kenner of Woodlake, NE placed sixth in the long-go, fourth in the short-go, and fourth in the average. His brother, Derek Kenner placed third in the long-go in the saddlebronc riding.

"The Men's team had another great rodeo," Clark said "We are in a good position to qualify quite a few cowboys to the CNFR in June, and many are in a position to win a regional title."

Amanda Bolerjack of Gillette, WY placed sixth in the long-go, sixth in the short-go, and seventh in the average in the barrel racing. "Amanda got on a new barrel horse this weekend did well. She should finish strong on this horse," Clark added.

"The men's and women's teams are a pleasure to coach and watch. I look forward to the final two regional rodeos," Clark said.
