EWC Men's Rodeo Team Finishes Strong At Lamar

The EWC rodeo team recently traveled to Lamar, Colorado for the annual college rodeo. Two EWC men came home with event titles. Chris Cover of Ashby, Nebraska ended up first in the tie down roping. Cody Brown of Burwell, Nebraska finished first in the team roping with partner Chase Beirma of Central Wyoming College.

Ty Kenner of Wood Lake, Nebraska finished third in the bareback riding.

Team Ropers, Tony Haller of Laramie, Wyoming and Megan Rankin of Alamo, Nevada ended up first in the first round and fourth in the average.

In the steer wrestling, Logan McDonald of Hemingford, NE placed third in the first round.

Wylie Johnson of North Platte, Nebraska placed sixth in the saddle bronc riding.

For the women, Bailey Lord of Hornick, Iowa placed fifth in the first round of barrels.

"The men's team did some catching up this weekend. We had some strong finishes and several men moved up in the standings." Coach Jake Clark said.

The rodeo team will finish their fall season in Cheyenne, Wyoming October 19-21.
