EWC Livestock Judging Team Wins Awards at Cow Palace Competition

TORRINGTON, WY -

EWC Livestock Judging students show the awards they won at the San Francisco competition. Students left to right are Drew Banks, Karlee Schell, Katrina Schwer, and Travis Zellitti.

The Eastern Wyoming College livestock judging team recently returned from a judging competition in San Francisco, California. The team competed in The Grand National Cow Palace Collegiate Judging Competition.

Team members include Drew Banks, Ft. Collins, CO; Karlee Schell, Green River, WY; Katrina Schwer, Fennimore, WI; and Travis Zellitti, Durango, CO.

The team finished as 2nd high team in sheep, 4th high team in hogs, 5th high team in cattle, 4th high team in oral reasons, and 4th high team overall.

Schwer finished as the 3rd high individual in sheep.

EWC Livestock Judging Coach JD Sexton added the following about his team, "I was very pleased with the team's performance at the Grand National. It was a nice capstone to the 2007-2008 season. I look forward to the team's performance next season."
