EWC Lancer Rodeo Kicks Off Season

TORRINGTON, WY -

The Eastern Wyoming College Lancer Rodeo team traveled to Riverton, Wyoming this past weekend to compete at the Central Wyoming College rodeo.

Andie Cross, Harrison, NE, finished second in the breakaway roping with an average time of 6.5 seconds.

In the saddle bronc riding, freshman Cody Peterson, Yoder, CO, finished 3rd in the first round of competition.

Sophomore Logan McDonald, Alliance, NE, finished 3rd in the average in the steer wrestling with a total time of 11.1 seconds.

"I was really proud of how Logan steer wrestled this weekend. He should have a great season," commended Coach Jake Clark.

In the team roping, EWC sophomore Jared Bilby, Bridgeport, NE, finished in 5th place in the average with partner Tyler Viles from the University of Wyoming. They won first in the first round of competition.

"Several of the women finished right out of the top spots. I look forward to watching how they will perform this season," added Clark.

The Lancer Rodeo team will travel to Sheridan for their next competition, September 26 - 27.
