EWC Community Education updates class information

The Eastern Wyoming College Community Education Office in Torrington announced a change to the upcoming Hunter Safety Class.

This class will be held on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, February 28-March 2, from 5:30-8:30 pm in the CTEC Building room 101. The cost of this class is $20 for 18 years and older.

Hunter Safety
Instructor: Luke May, Wyoming Game & Fish Warden

Wyoming Hunter Safety Certification—required for all hunters born after 1966, or for hunting in certain parts of Wyoming; ages ten years & older recommended; must attend all three days of instruction and complete test; scholarships provided by Goshen County 2-Shot Goose Hunting Committee for students 8-17 residing in Goshen County. Materials provided at first class.

Please note that participants are required to register for this class on-line at—the class will not be open for registration on-line until 30 days prior to the first day of class.

Eastern Wyoming College announces the President’s and Dean’s Honor Rolls

Eastern Wyoming College is pleased to announce the honor rolls for the Fall 2021 semester. There were 116 students receiving recognition for achieving high scholastic grades.

The President’s Honor Roll recognizes students that are full time (12 or more credit hours) and achieve a 4.0 grade point average. To qualify for the Dean’s Honor Roll, students must also be full time and achieve a grade point average of 3.5, but less than 4.0.

EWC Vet Tech club holding dog wash

The Eastern Wyoming College Veterinary Technology Club will be holding a dog wash on Saturday, January 29.

Appointments will begin at 8:00 am and will conclude at 1:30 pm. The student technicians will do minimal brushing and do not shave out mats. A current rabies certificate is required to participate. If you have a dog that is scared of the dryer, they need to be here early so they can stay until they are dry.

Pricing per dog is as follows:

Small Dog (0-20#) $10
Medium Dog (20.1-50#) $12
Large Dog (50.1 – 90#) $15
Extra Large Dog (90.1 and above) $20.00

Added charge for long hair: (Require additional grooming and Drying Time)
$5.00 per dog

Other Services:
Nail trim: $10

If the weather permits, the students will set up a registration table outside of the north entrance to the Veterinary Technology building.

Eastern Wyoming College introduced new faculty and staff at their Spring In-Service.

Todd Ascherl – Chemistry
Is an adjunct instructor for EWC and a long-time public school teacher in Nebraska and South Dakota. He relocated to western Nebraska to be closer to family.

Suzey Delger – Interim Nursing Program Director
Was the EWC Nursing Program Director for 6½ years and happily retired for 7 months before returning to lead EWC’s nursing program.

Matt Scott – Precision Agriculture Assistant Professor
Has been an adjunct instructor for EWC since 2019. Matt is a private business owner in the drone industry. He is a drone pilot and his business offers services of collecting and analyzing aerial data, photos and video. One of his photos is on display in the ATEC.

Beth Martin – Art Assistant Professor
Most recently from higher education in Tennessee. She is originally from Missoula, MT.

Sergio Mendez – Student Success/Testing Center Director
Received his bachelor’s degree from New Mexico State University. His work experience includes his work as an assistant educational director at St. Joseph’s and in social services for the State of Nebraska.

Ms. Kelly O’Brien – Animal Care Specialist
Graduate of EWC’s Vet Tech program and has successfully completed the National Vet Tech Exam
Most recent Vet Tech experience was at Goshen Vet Clinic.

Zane Freouf – Custodian/Grounds
Has worked for EWC part-time on the grounds since June.

Anita Burns – Cook
Comes to us from the Goshen Care Center where she was a dietary aid.

Amy Palmer – Cook
Recently relocated from Colorado to be closer to family. She is a long-time office manager in the insurance industry.

Mr. Ezekiel Rodriguez – Cook
Also from Torrington and has over 20 years in the food service industry.

Sagebrush & Roses tickets on sale now

Eastern Wyoming College - Sagebrush and Roses 2022 - Saturday, January 29, 2022Eastern Wyoming College Foundation announces that tickets for Sagebrush & Roses are on sale now.

This elegant evening features dinner and dancing and will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2022 at the Goshen County Rendezvous Center in Torrington, Wyoming.  Doors will open at 6 pm.

Tickets are $75 each and may be purchased online at, at the EWC Office of Institutional Development, or by calling 307.532.8303.

Tris Munsick and the Innocents will play for this year’s celebration.

This event is sponsored by the EWC Foundation with the funds raised benefiting the agriculture and livestock judging programs at the College.
