Dr. Richard PattersonPresident’s Welcome –

Welcome to Eastern Wyoming College!

Situated on a hill overlooking the Oregon Trail, just north of the original transcontinental railroad, down the road from old Ft. Laramie, and east of Laramie Peak, Eastern Wyoming College is located in the center of the American West. We’re a small college that serves a huge area: a main campus in Torrington, a branch campus in Douglas, and 12 outreach sites located in 6 Wyoming counties. We have a service area of 16,507 square miles!

Founded in 1948, we’re a traditional college with a modern campus, new and expanding housing, and great athletic teams. We have small classes, excellent facilities, and the best academic and vocational programs and faculty in the region. Also available are numerous student clubs tied to interests and departments, as well as service and honors organizations, and abundant student activities.

Our student and support services are second to none. Year after year, students and their families talk about how friendly we are. Whether you’re looking for a place to help you prepare for success at a four-year college or university, learn a skill or trade, or just move into the next phase of your life, you’ll find EWC is a good fit for you.

What if you don’t fit the traditional student mold? We’re still the place for you! If you’re a high school student looking to jump-start your education, a single parent, a returning veteran, a person working full-time in your career, or the first in your family to attend college, we can meet your needs and support you along the way. We excel in starts and restarts. Focused programs, student support services, concurrent and dual enrollment, and outstanding on-line education are all in place to meet your needs and fit your schedule.

Helping people reach their goals is what EWC is all about. You’ll find we’re a great partner for the journey.
