Richard Patterson teaches in the criminal justice program at Eastern Wyoming College.  He has worked in the criminal justice field as a police officer, field-training officer, and police sergeant.  He also worked a number of years in various institutional and community correctional settings, both with adults and juveniles.  Dr. Patterson has worked as a therapist, program director and executive director of a community mental health center.

He is licensed by the State of Wyoming as a professional counselor and addictions therapist and certified by the Wyoming Peace Officers Standards & Training Commission (P.O.S.T.) as an instructor. He trains peace officers, communications personnel, detention officers, probation/parole agents, and was involved in the training of Wyoming Department of Corrections personnel for WMCI.

Currently, his private practice involves work in three areas.  These include assessing and treating sex offenders, conducting psychological evaluations for various Wyoming law-enforcement agencies, and providing clinical supervision and oversight for the staff of the sex offender treatment programs within the Wyoming Department of Corrections facilities.

A Wyoming native, Dr. Patterson is married and has four grown children. He also has ten grandchildren.

Lawrence Curtis teaches in the criminal justice program at Eastern Wyoming College. Along with his academic credentials he brings an extensive amount of practical police experience to the college. He served with the Torrington Wyoming Police Department for twenty years; ten years as a patrolman and ten years as detective and supervisor. Additionally he served in Iraq for two years as an International Police Liaison Officer. During that time he worked closely with U.S. and Coalition Military Forces and Danish, Italian, British and other Commonwealth Police Advisors. He is married and has made Torrington his home for over 25 years.
