Joel Alworth

Bio
Joel was born and raised in Laramie, Wyoming. After graduating High School, he went to Eastern Wyoming College and received a Certificate in Welding and Joining Technology. He continued his education at the University of Wyoming receiving a Bachelors’ in Technical Education. Joel also received a Masters’ in Education. He taught in the public schools for 4 years before coming to Eastern Wyoming College. Additionally, Joel worked as a welder in various parts of Wyoming and owned a small fabrication business. He teaches Flux Cored Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, Shielded Metal Arc Welding and Machining Tooling. Joel enjoys being outdoors, team roping, hunting and family.

Bio
Lynn was born and raised in Veteran, Wyoming – on a small farm. After graduating from high school he went to work for CFI Steel Corporation, Sunrise, WY, in an underground iron mine. When the mine closed in 1981, Lynn was retrained as a welder at EWC the first year of the Welding program.
He was hired right out of welding school as a welder by Holly Sugar Corporation where he worked for 28 years as a pipe welder, fitter, fabricator, vibration analysis and in maintenance and repair. Lynn was on the EWC Welding advisory board and kept in contact with the welding department. In 2008, he returned to EWC as a welding instructor. Mentored by Leland Vetter, Lynn became an AWS certified welder, AWS Certified Welding Inspector and Educator, He has an AAS in Welding and Joining technology and enjoys teaching GMAW, FCAW, GTAW, Advanced and Structural SMAW and print reading.
His hobbies include fabrication and repair of a variety of things, hotrods, fishing, and gardening.
