Job Summary:
The Adult Learning Center Coordinator-Instructor supports the College’s Adult Education (AE) program. Primary responsibilities include recruitment and intake processing of Converse County AE students. Other primary tasks include instruction and testing, career counseling, disability services assistance, workforce pre-employment training workshops, and assist the AE Director as needed. Typical work hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 am-5:00 pm and an occasional evening from 5:00-8:00 pm. Weekly travel to and work at Glenrock is required. The position also requires occasional travel within the College’s six-county Service Area and Wyoming.
Essential Duties:
- Conduct training of all Start Smart courses for Converse County AE students
- Recruit and register students into Wyoming State approved AE programs of study
- Provide standards based instruction in reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and computer literacy utilizing college and career readiness standards which integrate Career Pathways methodologies
- Administer various tests and assessments as appropriate/needed; examples include Test of Adult Basic Education as a pre and post-test, Official Practice Test, and BEST testing for English Language Acquisition (ELA) students
- Assist in collection, compilation, completion, and submission of mandated forms/reports of all data requirements related to AE Program; ensure info accuracy and tracking
- Provide AE program support services to students, staff, and other stakeholders
- Teach students in other AE Program areas (e.g. ELA, workplace readiness, pre-employment, Bridge Program)
- Conduct AE student disability screenings; advocate for students who need accommodation
- Provide career-counseling services
- Maintain an organized record system to include student records
- Attend regional, state, and national training as appropriate
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field
- Three years full-time teaching/tutoring experience (or equivalent) at the secondary or post-secondary level
- Proficiency with databases, computers, and common software applications (e.g. Word, Outlook, Power Point, Excel)
- Effective written and verbal communications and proofreading
- Demonstrated talent to organize, arrange, and prioritize in a busy office and teaching environment
- Proven ability to work independently
- Current and valid state-issued Driver License
Hourly Pay Rate: $20,469.15 – $25,586.44 annually
