The Eastern Wyoming College Foundation will annually review and approve selection of the EWC Albert C. Conger Distinguished Service Award. The Foundation Nominating Committee will have responsibility for selecting the Albert C. Conger Distinguished Service Award. The Committee will submit annually to the Foundation Board the names of individuals recommended as potential recipients of the Albert C. Conger Distinguished Service Award.
Criteria will be interpreted as broadly as possible. Exemplary achievement in service and support of Eastern Wyoming College are primary considerations, to include:
- Leadership and significant accomplishment in a college role as an administrator, faculty or staff member, member of the Foundation Board of Directors, and/or member of the general public to include individuals or individual corporate entities.
- Major financial support for the College or a division of the College as determined by the Foundation board and development staff. Giving history can be evaluated by long-term giving, or by a single major gift, or both.
- Academic, professional or civic activities that have enhanced the College and its students, and are otherwise not recognized through the Distinguished Alumni Award.
- The Albert C. Conger Distinguished Service Award may be awarded to an individual or individuals (such as a family, or husband and wife), or individual corporate entities.
Previous awardees of the EWC Distinguished Alumni Award are eligible for this award, and awardees of the Albert C. Congers Distinguished Service Award are eligible for future consideration for the Distinguished Alumni Award if qualified. Alumni (graduate) status is not required for nomination or receipt of the Albert C. Conger Distinguished Service Award.
Individuals or individual corporations may be nominated by any member of the EWC faculty, staff, board of trustees, Foundation Board of Directors, or the general public. A letter of nomination must be accompanied by a brief resume or biography created by the nominator on behalf of the nominee. Individuals or individual corporate entities nominated but not selected may be re-nominated in a future year. The mailing address for the letter of nomination and resume or biography is EWC Office of Development, 3200 West C Street, Torrington, WY 82240.
The award will be presented at the EWC spring graduation ceremonies. The award will include an invitation to speak briefly at the graduation ceremonies, a recognition plaque, and a photograph to be included with other awardees and displayed within the College. The EWC Office of College Relations will work with the Foundation to develop media coverage to include press releases, interviews or other public information which may be appropriate.
The nomination process is open for nominations throughout the year, however nominations must be provided to the Office of Development by December 31 of each year for consideration and selection for presentation at the spring graduation ceremonies. The Office of Development will advertise the process in October of each year. The Foundation Nominating Committee will review nominations and present them to the Foundation for approval at its January meeting.
Recipients will be notified no later than the last week in February of each year in order to make any necessary travel arrangements.
