Dr Ludwig Appointed to VP of Learning

TORRINGTON, WY –

Eastern Wyoming College President Dr. Tom Armstrong has announced that Dr. Dee Ludwig has been appointed as the Vice President for Learning at the College. She will begin her duties immediately.

“Extremely dedicated, Dr. Dee Ludwig has long been a stalwart supporter of students and staff at Eastern Wyoming College and a dedicated, capable contributor in several significant areas of responsibility. As our college continues to transition and grow wisely, we are lucky to have her and will benefit in all areas related to learning and, indeed, achieving the overall college mission,” shared EWC President Dr. Tom Armstrong.

Ludwig’s career with EWC first began twenty-two years ago as a business and computer instructor. Since, she has served as Division Chair of Business and Technology, Associate Dean of Instruction, Dean of Instruction for Outreach and Lifelong Learning, and most recently as the Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness. In that role, she has served as the College’s strategic planning and accreditation officer and also oversaw institutional research, grant writing, and workforce development. She is currently serving as the chair of the self-study committee for reaccreditation. She counts among her chief accomplishments growing distance learning, increasing outreach programs and support, and expanding workforce development at the College. She has extensive curriculum and program development experience.

Ludwig received her doctoral degree from the University of Wyoming in Postsecondary and Adult Education. Other degrees include Education Specialist in Adult Education and Instructional Technology, Master’s Degree in Vocational Education with an emphasis in Business, and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Education.

Ludwig has received numerous awards and honors for both her teaching and administration of programs. She recently attended two leadership institutes including the Executive Leadership Institute sponsored by the League for Innovation and the National Institute for Leadership Development. She was selected to be a peer evaluator for The Higher Learning Commission accrediting agency.

She is highly involved in the community, region, and state. She is currently the president of the Torrington Rotary Club, served as a chair of the Prison Community Partnership Committee, is currently serving as a Governor appointee on the Correctional Industries Advisory Board, and served as the Wyoming representative on the Western Cooperative for Educational Telecommunication (WCET) Board of Directors.

Ludwig said, “I am looking forward to this new career move and am excited to be working directly with faculty and others in the instructional areas. Eastern Wyoming College plays a significant and important role in the lives of students and community members throughout our six-county service area, and I plan on continuing to foster and support that role. As a lifelong resident of Goshen County, I was a student at Eastern Wyoming College and many of my family members have been students. I know how important our college is to the community, and I am proud to be a part of it.”

She and her husband, Dan, are the parents of Dustin Ludwig, an information specialist with Goshen County School District.
