TORRINGTON, WY –
Eastern Wyoming College recently had a group of students complete a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) course. Many of those students were able to complete with the help of the Employment and Training for Self-Sufficiency Grant (ETSS).
The ETSS grant helps qualifying students with expenses related to tuition and fees, books, supplies and will also help with daycare expenses and certification expenses. The class that recently concluded had 12 students and 7 of those students were able to take advantage of this grant program.
Students were also presented information from Gilbert Servantez, Workforce Services, on how to find a job and the other services available through his department. Representatives from Banner Health also met with students to discuss employment opportunities available.
Another CNA course will begin on January 13, 2010. Students interested in this course or the ETSS grant opportunities available should contact Ashley Harpstreith, ETSS Grant & Workforce Coordinator at 307.532.8366 or by email atashley.harpstreith@ewc.wy.edu.
