EWC announces new business course opportunities

The Community Education office recommends the following credit classes to the community. Any non-students that enroll in one or both of these classes will receive a discount coupon for a future Community Education class.

These courses will be taught by Patricia Pulliam, EWC instructor in Business and Technology. Her work experience includes acting as public relations coordinator for Prudential (Austin, Texas) and health maintenance organization contracts and benefits manager for the State of Texas.

BADM 1500—BASIC BUSINESS PRINCIPLES
This credit course provides a simple overview of American business. The overview covers three main areas of business: foundations, functions, and contemporary issues. This course is designed to be taught through the use of current periodical and other media sources. The course is designed as a lecture-based class with no textbook required.
Date: Monday/Wednesday March 14 to May 7

TECH 1750—PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT & LEADERSHIP
In today’s demanding marketplace, students need to be prepared to sell themselves and their skills. This course is an employability skill-building program designed to help students develop an extra edge and help employers gain valuable workers. By reinforcing school-to-work competencies, it is designed to develop the student in four areas: as an individual, as a team member, as a leader, and as an employee. This course will use current periodicals and other media sources. An optional textbook will be available.
Date: Tuesdays, 3/18 to 5/6
Time: 1:00-1:55pm
