EWC announces new precision agriculture course

Eastern Wyoming College is pleased to announce a new course offering at the Torrington Campus, Intro to Precision Agriculture. This course will be offered January 9 through May 4, Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6:00-7:55 pm.

In this course, students will be introduced to essential aspects of precision agriculture concepts including: soil and crop spatial variability; new technologies such as GIS, DEM, GPS, sensors, variable rate machinery, PA software, remote sensing, geostatistics, sampling, experimental designs, precision integrated crop management, data acquisition, process and management, and socio-economical and e-marketing aspects.

Another course being offered by request for the spring semester is Pesticide Safety and Application. This course runs January 10-May 4, Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, 8:00-8:55am. Students successfully completing the course will have the necessary background to apply for a commercial applicators license.
