EWC announces upcoming bus trips

The Community Education department at Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington announce the upcoming bus trips to Johnstown, Colorado’s Candlelight Dinner Theatre.

The Wizard of Oz:

Like so many girls her age, little Dorothy Gale of Kansas dreams of what lies over the rainbow.  And then one day a twister . . . well, you know the rest of the story —the Scarecrow, the Tin Man, the Cowardly Lion, Toto, and the Wicked Witch!  The world’s most beloved film comes to brilliant life on the Candlelight stage and you won’t want to miss it. This trip will be Saturday, September 10 and the cost is $70. The paid registration deadline is August 23.

Evita:

This legendary Tony Award winning musical tells the story of Argentina’s passionate political figure Eva Peron, whose love for her country’s working class was surpassed only by her ambition.  Known for its anthem, “Don’t Cry for Me Argentina”, Evita will stun and delight this epic but intimate version of the musical that ensures you’ll hear every not and feel every heartbeat. This trip will be Saturday, October 8 and the cost of this trip is $70. The paid registration deadline is September 22.

Fall Horticulture Trip:

Join us for our Fall Horticulture Trip. This year we will return to Citrus in the Snow in Alliance, Nebraska.  Citrus in the Snow is a year round greenhouse that makes use of the constant temperature just few feet under the ground.  You will be amazed when you see the lemon and lime trees!  The next stop on this trip will be to the Western Potatoes operation, also in Alliance.  Western Potatoes harvests 2,000 acres of potatoes, which is about 1,599 semi-truck loads.  We will have the opportunity to view the actual harvesting including loading, unloading, sorting and storage.  This trip will include lunch at Newberry’s Common Grounds in Alliance.  Our final tour before returning to EWC’s campus will be at the Brown Sheep Company, a family owned and operated yarn spinning mill in operation since the 1980’s and located in Mitchell, NE. This trip will be Tuesday, September 13 and the cost of this trip is $40. The paid registration deadline is September 9.
