EWC athletes receive academic recognition

Eastern Wyoming College Athletic Director Tom Andersen has announced the academic excellence of EWC student athletes. There were 8 students athletes who earned National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Academic All American honors.

Pinnacle Award – 4.0 GPA
Kylee Tresch, volleyball, Wright, WY

Superior Award – 3.8-3.99 GPA
Sophia Arensdorf, volleyball, Ogallala, NE
Jared Pilkington, golf, Scottsbluff, NE
Adrian Torres Ruiz, golf, Madrid, Spain

Exemplary Award – 3.60-3.79 GPA

Anna Perez Gomez, women’s basketball, Canet de Mar, Spain

Team grade point averages were as follows:

Golf – 3.31
Women’s Basketball – 3.29
Volleyball – 3.25
Men’s Basketball – 3.06
Rodeo (29 students) – 2.95

Five members of the EWC Lancer Rodeo Team have been recognized as Scholar Americans from the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association. Students must maintain a 3.5 gpa and earn points in competition to be eligible. The students earning this recognition were:

In addition, 19 student athletes were named NJCAA Region IX Academic All Region. To qualify, student athletes must have 2 or more full time semesters with a minimum GPA of 3.25.
