EWC brings home win at CSC Rodeo

The Central Rocky Mountain Region rodeo is in full swing with the rodeo at Chadron State College this past weekend. The women’s team won with 410 points and the men’s team placed 6th.
Eastern Wyoming College freshman Bailey Schaack, Hyannis, NE, won the all around with 170 points. She placed 2nd in breakaway roping and tied for 4th in barrel racing. Freshman, Jordan Hagerdorn, West Point, NE, placed 1st in the long go and 3rd in the average in breakaway roping. Sadie Gjermundson, sophomore, Halliday, ND, placed 2nd in the average in goat tying. Mardee SIerks, sophomore, Brewster, NE placed 8th in the average also in goat tying.
Men’s team roping duo’s of Derek Weinreis, sophomore, Beach, ND and Levi O’Keeffe, sophomore, Mohall, ND, Nate Miles, sophomore, Arthur, NE, Max Zimmerman, sophomore, Harrison, NE, Shane Suchy, sophomore, Tryon, NE, and Trent Kelly, sophomore, Sheridan, WY all qualified for the short go. Weinreis and O’Keeffe won the team roping average.
“The women’s team had another great rodeo. I am very excited about the way they are competing.
Jordan Hagedorn and Bailey Schaack are off to a great start in their college rodeo careers. The men’s team is staying in the hunt. Once again last year’s reserve national champions are on a role. I am very impressed and proud of how these guys compete” said Coach Jake Clark.
The Lancer rodeo team will travel to Sheridan to compete at the Sheridan College rodeo this weekend.
