EWC Foundation golf tournament one of the largest ever

The Eastern Wyoming College Foundation hosted its 28th annual golf tournament and Calcutta on June 16th at the Cottonwood Country Club. This year there were 32 teams.
“This year’s EWC golf tournament was one of the biggest and best in years,” shared EWC Foundation President, Todd Peterson. “As President of the EWC Foundation, I can’t thank the golf committee and all who helped with putting on the tournament enough. However, a very special thanks goes to those community members who participated in the Friday night festivities and the tournament. Their generosity for and support of the Foundation is greatly appreciated.”
Winning the 2018 tournament was the team of Craig Fullmer, Pat Blacker, Mike Fullmer, and Ben Jackson. Second place went to the team of Ken and Jane Betschart, Scott Anderson, and Tom Slusher. In third place was the team of Tom, Kay, and Toby Gardner, and Jim Miller.

Most accurate drive on #4 – Tug Nelson and Lisa Eddington Closest to the pin on #6 – Julie Haught Longest drive in the fairway on #8 – Jordan Hanslovan Longest team putt on #14 – Steven Easton, Colter Reffalt, Josh Knouse, and Sam Branham Closest to the pin on #17 – Gerald Wilmoth
The Friday evening Calcutta raised $3,615 in benefit of the Foundation and $1,410 for the Lancer Golf Team. The golf team proceeds support team travel and team gear. “It’s fun to meet the EWC players. They did a great job having chipping contests, helping us out with our drive on #9, and meeting and greeting the participants,” stated Marilyn Fisher, EWC Trustee and Foundation member. “The local golfers are proud of the EWC golf team, you can tell by how many turned out for this fun tournament! We love following our own Kash Kaufman!”
In the tournament’s history, it has raised over $175,000 in support of EWC. This year’s tournament boasted the largest field of players since 2009. Lucas Moore, EWC Foundation member shared, “I believe that the quality of organization, structure, and cause of the tournament was reflected well in the amazing participation this year.”
EWC’s Director of Development, John Hansen summarized with the following, “I would like to thank our nearly 50 corporate sponsors; our collective success is directly linked to your investment. Many thanks to Dave Dent and Cottonwood Country Club for providing an amazing venue to support our College.”
