Autumn Zulauf an Eastern Wyoming College (EWC) GEAR UP Student from Torrington High School (THS) was nominated by EWC GEAR UP Director Judy Brown, to be selected as a Youth Leadership Summit (YLS) representative for 2018. Autumn, who is a senior at THS, has been an active GEAR UP student for many years. Autumn will be traveling with Ms. Brown to the NCCEP/GEAR UP Annual Conference July 15-18, 2018.
The students who were selected and attend YLS are emerging leaders in their respective communities. These students, many of whom have overcome great obstacles on their paths to success, are passionate about their beliefs and dedicated to their high aspirations
The Youth Leadership Summit provides a high-quality, 3.5-day national-level interactive training experience and peer-to-peer learning opportunity for 9-12th grade high school students currently participating in GEAR UP programs. The YLS focuses on life, leadership, and learning-to-learn skills for students who will be encouraged to share their experience with their peers, schools, and communities.
“I am so excited for Autumn to represent not only the EWC GEAR UP program but GEAR UP Wyoming as she is the only GEAR UP student from Wyoming who was nominated and selected,” said Ms. Brown.
