The Community Connection at Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington is offering the following class.
PRESERVING YOUR FALL HARVEST—especially those tomatoes!
Instructor Gretchen Wollert of Pleasant Valley Green House wants you to know that preserving your garden crops (or Farmer’s Market purchases) can be easy, particularly using the “boiling water bath method”. In this hands-on class, you will experience the canning process, from start to finish, and during “boiling” Gretchen will share a whole lot of ideas and recipes for what to do with those green tomatoes. She will also share ideas on freezing tomatoes and other fall harvest. Gretchen will provide all the supplies needed, including tomatoes, peaches, and cucumbers for pickles, you provide your hands and interest. Everyone will get to take home jars of the preserved harvest. The deadline to register for this class is September 8. This class will be held on Wednesday September 9 from 6-8:00 pm. The cost of this class is $21.
