EWC highlights upcoming Community Education classes

The Community Education office at Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington is offering the following classes.

SPRING & SUMMER QUILTED TABLE RUNNER
Instructors:  Goshen County Quilters Guild Members

Make a quilted table runner in one day!  All fabric and thread supplied in kits, you simply select your favorite color scheme for spring and/or summer.  You will need to bring your own sewing machine with bobbin in good working order & a ¼” presser foot and basic sewing supplies—2 new sharp or quilting sewing machine needles,8-10 medium safety pins, lead pencil or fabric marker, hand-sewing needles, seam ripper, scissors, ruler (clear plastic or quilting).  Must have some basic sewing experience.  Plan on bringing your own lunch, beverages & snacks.  Depending on enrollment there may be additional kits for purchase.

This class will be held Saturday, March 25, from 8:30am – 4:00 pm and the cost is $50 which includes fabric and thread kit.

OUT ON A LOOM:  Introduction to Loom Beading
Instructor:  Sandy Hoehn

Loom beading is an incredibly beautiful and versatile craft.  Instead of stringing a single strand of beads, loom beading allows you to make intricate patterns, even if you don’t have much or any experience with this type of beading.  With a bead loom you can make hat bands, bracelets, wrist cuffs, belts, and much more.  And to get you started right, your class fee will include a beginner’s kit including a bead loom, needles, thread, and 1,000 seed beads.

This class will be held on Mondays, March 27 through April 27 from 6-8:00 pm and the cost is $50.

SPRING COOKIE FRENZY
Instructor:  Donna White

Kids, celebrate spring! Make and decorate some cookies.  Yep, you and your mom or dad, or better yet, both, will mix up an easy roll out cookie recipe, cut out springy shapes, bake and decorate. This class is limited to 12, so don’t wait sign up.  All supplies are provided.   Bring a lidded container or small box to take your spring cookie creations home with you.

This class will be Saturday, April 8 from 1-4:00 pm and the cost is $25.
