EWC Highlights Upcoming Community Education Youth Camps

The Community Education office at Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington announces upcoming youth Rodeo and basketball camps.

YOUTH RODEO CAMP is open to buckaroos in grades 1-6. In this ground clinic EWC Rodeo Coach and EWC Rodeo Team members will instruct students on the college rodeo events and basic rodeo skills. Equipment is provided; clinic does not include animals. The registration fee includes a t-shirt and a 2014 Lancer Rodeo ticket. This camp will be held on Monday March 2 from 4- 5:30 pm at the Goshen County Fairgrounds Pavilion and will cost $20.

YOUTH BASKETBALL is open to children in grades 1-6. Players will learn basic skills while having fun! Class focus is on building skills in dribbling, ball handling, passing/catching, shooting, running, and agility, as well as group cooperation. What Coach Conde wants his players to walk away with is a positive attitude and a love for basketball. This camp will be held on Saturdays, March 7 through March 28. Grades 1-3 from 8:309:45 am and grades 4-6 will be held from 10-11:30 am. The cost of this camp is $35 and includes a t-shirt.

START SMART WEEBALL BASKETBALL class is limited to children age 4 (by Jan 2015), age 5, and 6 year old Kindergarteners. A lower basket and child-sized balls are used in this structured program that focuses on teaching children and their parents the basic motor skills necessary to play organized basketball.

Classes for 4 & 5 year olds will be held Tuesdays, March 17, 24/April 7, 14. Classes for 6 year olds will be held on Thursdays, March 19, 26/April 9, 16. Times for both of these is 5:30-6:30pm and the cost is $35 and includes a t-shirt. Please note there is no class the week of March 30-April 3.
