EWC Offers Courses in Mobile Welding Lab in Newcastle and Moorcroft

TORRINGTON, WY –
The Workforce Development office at Eastern Wyoming College announces short-term welding courses to be offered in the College’s Mobile Welding Lab in Newcastle and Moorcroft.
Classes are available at the following times in Moorcroft:
  • Session 1 – April 4 – 8, Monday – Friday, 7 am – 1 pm
  • Session 2 – April 4 – 8, Monday – Friday, 3 pm – 9 pm
Classes are available at the following times in Newcastle:
  • Session 1 – April 11 – 15, Monday – Friday, 7 am – 1 pm
  • Session 2 – April 11 – 15, Monday – Friday, 3 pm – 9 pm
Courses will be offered for credit. The following courses will be available: Maintenance Welding, Intro to Shielded Metal Arc Welding and Flux Cored Arc Welding (Dual Shield).
Test-training is also available for welders seeking to qualify for specific welding codes or specifications. This training consists of supervised practice and documentation of proper techniques, enabling the welders to overcome faulty habits. Practice specimens are made and tested, and the welders are guided toward correcting any welding faults they may have. At the end of the training week, a decision can be made to test or not test with additional charges for the testing.
Workforce training grants are available for these welding courses. Base pricing may vary upon course expenses and location.
