Eastern Wyoming College students, Whitney Walson, sophomore, Torrington, WY and Amanda Kaufman, sophomore, Morrill, NE recently were awarded the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship from Chadron State College.
These awards provide a tuition waiver of resident tuition for one year, up to 16 credit hours per semester. The awards are renewable for one additional year for a total of 64 credit hours provided the recipient maintains a 3.25 GPA while enrolled at Chadron State College. Applicants must be Phi Theta Kappa members at their current institution, earn a minimum 3.5 cumulative GPA and an A.A. degree prior to their enrollment at Chadron State College, and enroll full-time at Chadron State College immediately following their A.A. graduation.
“EWC is extremely proud of current students Amanda Kaufman and Whitney Walson on being awarded the prestigious Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships to be utilized at Chadron State College next fall. They are stellar examples of diligent, dedicated students and their high grade point averages allowed them to become members of EWC’s Alpha Omicron Lambda Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa; a global academic honor society specific to community college student academic achievement,” said Debbie Ochsner, instructor and PTK sponsor.
