The Eastern Wyoming College Veterinary Technology Club recently participated in a vaccination clinic on September 30, 2017, along with Waggin Tails Shelter and Dr. Meeboer from Goshen Veterinary Clinic.

Services provided, included common vaccinations for dogs and cats, microchipping, and nail trims. Some of these animals would not otherwise receive vaccines. 186 animals were served from throughout the community.

Veterinary Technology club sponsor, Cristi Semmler said, “This was an invaluable experience for our students. Over a 3rd of the students in the program came down to join in. I am glad we were able to support the community, and very thankful that Waggin’ Tails Shelter is so supportive of both our club, and the community they serve.”

The funds raised at this event are helping the sophomores in the club make it to this year’s convention. The students have again chosen to go to Orlando, Florida, and attend the same conference. This year the conference has a new name. The North American Veterinary Community (NAVC) Conference, is now the Veterinary Meeting & Expo (VMX).

The club is hosting one more vaccination clinic this Fall, on October 28, from 10am-2pm. The clinic will be held at Waggin’ Tails Shelter.
