EWC Vet Tech completes accreditation visit

The Veterinary Technology department at Eastern Wyoming College is pleased to announce the successful completion of an American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (CVTEA) site visit.

This site visit was held on September 20-21.  The EWC Veterinary Technology instructors prepared an accreditation report prior to the visit and assembled numerous materials as necessary and as requested for the accreditation team. The team confirms that the program is substantially meeting the CVTEA Standards of Accreditation.

“This a rigorous and comprehensive peer review process. The site team commended the program for numerous strengths including: our student-centered faculty and staff; our enthusiastic students; and the exceptional value we provide to our students”

Graduation from a CVTEA-accredited institution is necessary for licensure or certification for professional practice throughout the majority of state licensing boards and credentialing agencies. Having well-trained technicians assisting veterinarians is vital to the health of our animals. The CVTEA will be reviewing the report and site visit evaluation in April, 2018.
