EWC Welder Test Facility has been reaccredited

EWC’s American Welding Society Weld Test Center was established in 2007. The instructors weld test in accordance with Codes AWS D1.1, ASME, and API 1104.

The test facility is accredited every year with an on sight inspection conducted every three years. Updates to the Quality assurance Manual includes:

Organization and personnel structure
Personnel and qualifications
All Test supervisors must be AWS Certified Welding Inspectors
Safety procedures for testing
Equipment maintenance and calibration
Weld test material verifiable by type and source
Qualification records and Record keeping procedures

Requirements that are met each year is a reference library, training programs required to maintain and improve skills, and a list of testing and measuring equipment.

“I would like to congratulate the instructors of the Welding and Joining Technology program, it has been mentioned that it is one of the finest programs in the nation” said Dr. Richard Patterson, EWC President.

The next regular program accreditation review is scheduled for 2017.
