EWC wins home golf tournament

Harry WalchEastern Wyoming College is pleased to announce that the Lancer Golf team won the home tournament hosted last week.  The Lancers finished the tournament with a two-day team total of 593.  Otero Junior College was second with 610.

“Our entire team had a good tournament that led to a team victory, freshmen Harry Walch winning the tournament and all 8 of our players earning points towards all region standings,” said Coach Zach Smith. “It’s always important to have a good performance at our home tournament and the guys definitely accomplished that this week. Arvy had a particularly strong round on Friday where he had 17 pars and 1 eagle. I was excited for him because you don’t see a round like that very often. We hope to finish the season strong in McCook and Riverton when we have 2 tournaments in the span of 5 days.”
