Eastern Wyoming College is pleased to announce that the Lancer Golf team won the home tournament hosted last week. The Lancers finished the tournament with a two-day team total of 593. Otero Junior College was second with 610.
“Our entire team had a good tournament that led to a team victory, freshmen Harry Walch winning the tournament and all 8 of our players earning points towards all region standings,” said Coach Zach Smith. “It’s always important to have a good performance at our home tournament and the guys definitely accomplished that this week. Arvy had a particularly strong round on Friday where he had 17 pars and 1 eagle. I was excited for him because you don’t see a round like that very often. We hope to finish the season strong in McCook and Riverton when we have 2 tournaments in the span of 5 days.”
Leading the Lancers was freshman Harry Walch, from Staines, England. Walch shot a 75 and 72 for a two-day total of 147 and won the tournament.
